Prime Minister Gaston Browne said: Today, is a sad day, as we mourn the passing of our dear friend and Comrade, Sir Ramez Hadeed.
Sir Ramez was a close family friend with whom Lady Maria and I spent a significant amount of time discussing issues spanning a plethora of areas to include; politics , business and diplomacy.
Our last visit to Sir Ramez’s home was yesterday afternoon. It was intended to be a surprise visit, only to be told that he was hospitalized a couple of hours earlier, from what appeared to have been a massive heart attack.
Sir Ramez Hadeed contribution to nation building in the areas of business, diplomacy and politics was significant.
He served as our country’s longest serving Ambassador, since independence in 1981 and was a regular member of our annual UN delegation.
Our country is the poorer as a result of his passing and we extend heartfelt condolences to the Hadeed family on his passing.
We trust that the fond memories, his achievements and contributions will assuage the pain of his surviving family members.
May his soul rest in peace and rise in glory.
