Antigua’s Port Authority is delving into the possibility of establishing an LNG bunkering operation, aligned with the upcoming Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) power plant at Crabbes Peninsula.
The prospect of the LNG plant, set to become operational in the coming months, is generating interest from cruise and cargo ship operators.
General Manager Darwin Telemaque revealed that major cruise lines and shipping companies are inquiring about refueling their vessels with cleaner LNG.
This shift towards LNG is part of a broader trend towards cleaner energy.
Antigua’s strategic location will make it the sole Eastern Caribbean nation offering this option, aligning with global environmental concerns.
