UNITED Nations Secretary General António Guterres arrived in the island Sunday for a two-day working visit.
Guterres was scheduled to tour the Seville Great House in St Ann, Sunday afternoon, and hosted at a dinner and cultural event at Devon House, St Andrew, later in the day at an event organised by the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, in collaboration with UNESCO Kingston.
While in Jamaica, the UN secretary general will meet with Prime Minister Andrew Holness for discussions on a wide range of issues including the impact of the climate crisis in the Caribbean and the upcoming high-level discussions on the mid-term review of the global framework for disaster risk reduction.
He will also meet with staff at UN House and tour the Art Walk in downtown Kingston.
