Saint Lucia police are investigating the suspected drowning of a male on Sunday along the East Winds beach.
A video on social media showed a man lying on his back on the sand while another man administered chest compressions.
The Gros Islet fire station responded after receiving a distress call at about 5:25 pm.
CPR was performed and the emergency responders transported the patient to the hospital, but he succumbed.
There are no further details at present.
