The Judicial and Legal Services Commission (JLSC) has exposed the disciplinary charges against Chief Magistrate Joanne Walsh, who faces allegations of mishandling funds and destroying government records.
The investigation into Walsh’s conduct, initiated by Permanent Secretary Hildred Simpson, began in October 2022, during her tenure as Director of Public Prosecutions.
Despite initially obtaining an injunction, Walsh recently lost her bid for interim relief against the Commission.
Judge Jan Drysdale ruled that there was insufficient evidence to support her claims of an abuse of process.
Now, Walsh must confront the 10 disciplinary charges, with her future hanging in the balance pending a decisive hearing.
