( Real News Antigua) A 15-year-old has found himself in trouble with the police, allegedly having broken into a Jolly Harbour villa and stolen the key to a motor pick-up – and, subsequently, the vehicle itself.
Reports say a Jolly Harbour home-owner notified the Bolans Police Station that her villa had been broken into sometime between 1:27 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Monday, March 6, and that her key and vehicle had been taken.
Apparently, the victim had secured her home after 1 p.m. and left for the beach. However, when she returned home at about 6:15 p.m. she found a northern kitchen door open.
Reportedly, she immediately carried out a search of the house and discovered that the key for a silver Ford pick-up was missing from her dressing table and the vehicle, itself, was also gone. However, there were no signs of forced entry.
While the police were conducting their investigations, the stolen vehicle was discovered, in Golden Grove, in the possession of the teenager.
As a result, officers took possession of the vehicle and the teenager was taken to Police Headquarters for investigation purposes.
The boy was subsequently released into his mother’s custody. She was told to report to the Bolans Police Station on Wednesday, March 8, as investigations into the matter continue.
