A group of volunteers led by Dean Jonas, has completed the cleaning of the drains and gutters within the St George community prior to the arrival of storm Tammy.
The team, which calls itself TeamDeanJonas, has been working tirelessly since last week to clear the debris and garbage that clogged the drainage system and posed a flood risk to the residents in the Potters Girlstown, sections of the Potters Main Road and the Pigotts communities.TeamDeanJonas has also pledged to continue its work after the rain passes, especially in the Paynters West area, where some flood victims are in need of assistance.
The team plans to distribute relief items to the affected families, as well as help them with cleaning.
Dean Jonas said that he was proud of his team and thanked them for their dedication and service. He also urged other citizens to join the volunteer effort with Ms Keiva Davis and contribute to the recovery of the nation.
