(PointeXpress)Three schools in the St. Mary’s South constituency were presented with electric fans to help them to cope with the several heat waves that have been affecting the country over the past several weeks. The presentation started at the St. Mary’s School for Excellence in Bolans where 20 fans were presented to the principal, Casey Phillip, who thanked Senator Dwayne George for his goodwill gesture noting that this is a timely donation given the current heat wave and the discomfort that this causes for students and teachers alike. Senator George said he firmly believes that students learn better in an environment that is conducive to learning and the donation of electrical fans will go a long way to alleviate the heat thus making it easier for students to concentrate on learning. 12 fans each donated to the S.R Olivia David Primary school (formerly Bolans Primary) and the Urlings Primary school. At S.R Olivia David, Charlie Byers accepted the fans on behalf of principal, Joycelyn James, while principal, Denese Parker accepted the fans at the Urlings primary. Senator George said ultimately there will come a time when the fans will have to be replaced by air conditioning units, and that he is prepared to assist where possible with that upgrade
