St. John’s Antigua, 10th March 2024 – The Antigua and Barbuda Swimming Federation proudly unveils its historic 24-member squad selected to compete in the upcoming CARIFTA Championships, scheduled to start March 29th, 2024 in the Bahamas. This represents the largest contingent to date to represent Antigua and Barbuda at CARIFTA, marking a significant milestone for the Federation.
In a ground-breaking move, the federation will introduce a swimmer to participate in the open water segment of the CARIFTA Championships for the first time. This bold step underscores the federation’s commitment to diversifying its participation and showcasing the talent of its athletes across various disciplines within the sport of swimming.

The coaching and management team accompanying the record-breaking squad to the CARIFTA Championships is led by Head Coach Wayne Mitchell, who made his first debut at CARIFTA with three (3) swimmers back in 2012. He is assisted by Coach Nelson Molina who brings a wealth of experience and expertise to guide our athletes to success.
The team manager is Pooja Tivary who will oversee the logistical aspects of the team’s participation, ensuring smooth operations and providing essential support to both athletes and coaching staff.
