William Pitman, a farmer, was caught stealing 27 scallions valued at $4 each from a Bethesda farm on January 5.
Discovered by the farm owner, Pitman was apprehended at gunpoint, leading to his arrest at the De Lapps estate.
In court on Monday, he pleaded guilty and was remanded until the next day for sentencing.
On Tuesday, Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel ordered Pitman to pay a $900 fine and restitution amounting to $108.
