In a strong response to circulating reports suggesting her impending resignation, United Progressive Party (UPP) General Secretary and Minority Leader in the Senate, Shawn Nicholas, has publicly denounced the accuracy of these claims.
Nicholas took to social media, expressing her disappointment with the current state of journalism, calling for a return to basic principles such as fact-checking.
Earlier, Antigua Today published an article suggesting that sources within the UPP indicated Nicholas was expected to tender her resignation. The report, described as a “political bombshell,” speculated that her departure would deliver a significant blow to the UPP, given her prominent role within the party’s leadership.
However, Nicholas swiftly refuted the report, posting on her Facebook account: “I weep for what Journalism has descended to in this country.
