New York, NY: – Antigua and Barbuda Associations United (ABAU) is thrilled to kick off the upcoming year-end giving season with an “Ole Time Christmas” event at the Antigua House, 12 West 122nd Street, NY, NY on Sunday December 3rd 2023 from 1pm – 4pm.
This 18-year-old nonprofit body is the umbrella organization for over twenty-five 501 (C) (3) non-profit organizations in the northeast United States, that are dedicated to supporting community programs in Antigua and Barbuda.
Attendees can look forward to enjoying a delectable brunch menu, featuring traditional Antiguan and Barbudan cuisine as well as live cultural performances. Proceeds from this event will benefit a number of initiatives in Antigua and Barbuda, including mentorship and life skills workshops for the youth and breast cancer awareness and screening programs.
The event promises to be an afternoon of philanthropy, good company, old fashioned cocktails and flavorful food. It will feature a caroling and storytelling contest, live performances and lots of prizes. A donation of $50 is requested.
“This is will be remarkable evening of nostalgia, connection, inspiration, and giving. With the support of organizations, businesses and individuals we anticipate a great turnout. This event will go a long way in accomplishing our fundraising goals. Our member organizations are committed to community development and together we will provide resources to help many schools and organizations in Antigua and Barbuda achieve their goals and mission,” said Andy Howell, ABAU President.
ABAU will also aim to excite donors and entice new audiences on Global Day of Giving, which is celebrated annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. On November 28th, ABAU will host a virtual media day in an effort to attract new partners and donors and to re-engage with current supporters to encourage them to make a greater social impact.
