A 28-year-old Jakeem Murray died at the hospital hours after a truck he was driving over turned in Cedar Valley yesterday.
Meanwhile. men are reportedly nursing injuries following separate incidents on Wednesday, March 28: one involving a cement truck and the other a pick-up truck.
Reports are that a man had to be rushed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for treatment after the cement truck he was driving overturned in the Cedar Valley area.It is unclear what triggered the accident, which caused a light pole to be broken into two pieces and the utility lines to hang low.
The incident reportedly occurred in the vicinity of a construction site, but it was not known whether the truck was transporting cement to that location.
The vehicle fell onto its side off a dirt road and it appeared that the front axle was damaged, causing a wheel to be twisted.
Reports say the driver was transported to the hospital by the Emergency Medical Service (EMS); however, the extent of his injuries has not been ascertained.
In the other incident, a man allegedly fell out the back of a pick-up truck in which he was travelling in the Cedar Grove area.
What caused the man to fall is not known; however, onlookers quickly went to his rescue, assisting him to the side of the road and laying him flat with his head on a cushion.
The man’s slippers were seen in the road, in addition to a sheet of galvanize.
Apparently he, too, had to be transported to the hospital to be seen by a doctor.
