Pastor Dr Hensworth W.C. Jonas has called for the repeal of the legislation decriminalising small amounts of cannabis for personal use.
He believes this legislation endangers Antigua and Barbuda’s youth.
Presently, The Cannabis Act permits each household to cultivate four cannabis plants and allows individuals to possess up to 15 grams for personal use.
However, Dr Jonas says policing cannabis is nearly impossible. He made these comments during the launch of his book, ‘Radical Discipleship’.
The Government recently announced it has commissioned a study to determine the implications of the change in the law.
