Police are searching for the gunmen who shot and killed a 43-year old American citizen, soon after he had arrived here on Monday night.
Police said Gregory McIntosh, a taxi operator from Brooklyn, New York, was at home in Moneague, St Ann when three gun men armed entered the house and held him up.
The authorities said McIntosh was robbed of an undetermined sum of cash before being shot several times in the back of the head, left side of his back and right wrist.
The gunmen ran from the premises and escaped in a waiting motorcar.
Jamaica has recorded 303 murders as of March 31, compared with 382 for the corresponding period last year.
Jamaica recorded 1498 murders in 2022.
