The Trinidad police have launched an investigation into the death a 17-year-old student by alleged suicide at his home in Tabaquite, a town in central Trinidad.
The student, who is the son of a police officer, was due to sit the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination that started in Trinidad on Monday.
But relatives told police the boy had been stressed and worried about the examination.
His body was found by two female relatives and police said a gun with live rounds of ammunition was also discovered at the scene.
A post mortem will be conducted on the body later this week.
