Executive Chairman of Sandals Resorts International Adam Stewart says the company will hire hundreds of managers over the next three years.
He was addressing participants, mainly high school students, at the Jamaica Youth Tourism Summit now underway in Montego Bay, St James..
“In my company alone, in the next three years, I’m looking for 300 new managers,” Stewart told the gathering.
“They will be in a position to buy their own homes; they will be full-time employees with full benefits including medical, pension. They will get to start families, and make an indelible mark on society overall and they’ll be backed by the company-paid Sandals Corporate University to achieve all their goals and ambitions,” he added.
His announcement was met with widespread applause.
Stewart was speaking within the context of opportunities within the tourism sector because of Jamaica’s strong economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic crippled much of global commerce, especially tourism.
“We recovered strongly from COVID and are continuing to recover and it means there are going to be opportunities,” he promised.
