Tourism Minister Denise Charles has announced that planning has begun for the staging of the 23rd Edition of the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) this year.
She made the announcement during an interview with State-Owned Radio DBS.
“The planning has begun, we actually have a committee which has met and has proposed the line-up and so we are in the process of finalizing things, putting systems in place,” Charles said.
She stated also that this year’s event is expected to be bigger than last year’s festival since, “many more people learned about our creole festival last year and already have booked their tickets to come.”
“We already have challenges with access to the country, so we are working with some airlines to have charter services,” she said. “…I’m hoping between a month or two we can announce some other air services, so people from the US [United States] market could come to Dominica for the World Creole Music Festival.”
She said the public will be kept informed about the event.
