The UWI Seismic Research Centre (SRC) has confirmed a magnitude 5.1 earthquake.
According to the SRC the event occurred at around 7:34 Sunday morning.
Based on the location of the earthquake it would have been felt in areas between Port of Spain, Arima, and San Fernando.
