A High Court Judge this morning dismissed the election petition challenging the validity of Kelvin ‘Shugy’ Simon’s election as the MP of St. Mary’s South.
This paves the way for a by-election, where Simon and Senator Samantha Marshall will compete for the seat
Speaking to reporters outside the High Court Simon said he was happy with the decision and was happy to face the candidate of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party.
” I am happy that this matter will be settled by the people and I am going to win by a bigger margin,” Simon said.
Meanwhile Senator Samantha Marshall who was also in court, said that she lost in the court, but is confident that she will win at the polls
