( Real News Antigua ) A drug interdiction and a drug-eradication exercise were conducted at the General Post Office and in Buckleys, respectively, but no
arrests were made in either incident.
In collaboration with the Customs Enforcement Unit, officers from
the Narcotics Department and K9 Unit conducted the operation at
the Post Office on the morning of December 1.
Three brown cardboard boxes containing articles of clothing and a
quantity of cannabis seeds were found, seized, and taken to Police
Headquarters for investigation purposes.
Meanwhile, two separate wounding incidents are being investigated,
one in which a man was stabbed with a pair of scissors.
According to reports, a Factory Road resident reported to the
Criminal Investigations Department (CID) that he had been
awakened by his roommate and the two had gotten into an
altercation, during which he was stabbed in the left hand.
The alleged offence occurred at about 5:07 a.m. on December 2.
The victim had to seek medical treatment, while his roommate was
arrested on suspicion of wounding and taken to the St. John’s Police,
along with the scissors purportedly used, for investigation purposes.
In the other incident, a 65-year-old Herberts man reported that he
had been wounded by someone known to him, on the night of
December 2, on All Saints Road.
Allegations are that the victim fell into a disagreement with a family
friend over work he had done and his expectation of payment, as

waist and attacked the Herberts man, who received cuts to his left
hand and arm, for which he had to seek medical treatment.
