Businesses and government offices will close early on Thursday, June 22, 2023, as Saint Lucia braces for the passage of Tropical Storm Bret.
Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre announced the early closures in an address to the nation on Wednesday night.
He said all businesses and government offices would close from 1:00 pm and the Island’s two airports from 10:30 am.
Schools will also close on Thursday until further notice.
But the school closures will not affect students writing the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) on Thursday morning.
And the Prime Minister disclosed that he will chair a National Emergency Management Advisory Committee (NEMAC) meeting on Thursday at 9:00 am.
