Teenager Kimani Kyori Starker on Thursday began his first of a 28-day stint on remand at Dodds on a murder charge.
The 16-year-old from No 14 Martins Road, Pine, St Michael is accused of killing Takori Wilkinson, 17, of Princess Royal Avenue who died on Tuesday morning at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he had been in critical condition for the past week.
He was shot between 9:15 p.m., and 9:30 p.m., a week last Tuesday while liming with a group at the Pavilion in Wildey.
Magistrate Alison Burke told the accused that he was not required to plead to the charge as it is indictable. “You cannot get bail at the lower court. You are going to be remanded,” Magistrate Burke explained to Straker who is represented by attorneys-at-law Angella Mitchell-Gittens SC and Kristen Vanderpool.
Straker is set to make his next appearance before the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on September 19.
