APUA, Antigua’s utility company, is investigating the reasons behind the widespread power outages experienced over the weekend.
In a preliminary report, Electricity Business Manager Andre Matthias revealed that the causes are still under investigation, with a more detailed report expected on Monday.
Initial findings indicate the first set of outages was planned for maintenance at Cassada Gardens Substation, while the second, unplanned interruption resulted from a failure at Friars Hill Substation.
Power has been restored, and engineers are working to identify the root causes of the disruptions that impacted various areas of St. John’s.
