In the aftermath of the devastating fire that engulfed the Antigua Yacht Club (AYC) Marina complex in Falmouth Harbour on October 3rd, Managing Director Shaun Falcone has confirmed plans for a temporary structure to be erected by January 2024.
The cleanup of the premises has already commenced, with the aim of completing it by the middle to end of the following week, paving the way for the demolition process.
While the owners have aspirations to rebuild a permanent structure in the future, it is estimated that it will take two and a half to three years for the new facility to become operational.
Preliminary findings from an internal investigation suggest a major power surge as a potential cause, with formal inquiries ongoing by the fire department.
