The Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute (ABHTI) is proud to announce the launch of three dynamic short courses aimed at empowering individuals within the community with specialized skills in the hospitality and tourism industry.
The first course, “Baking Basics,” is set to begin June 10th, running for 6 weeks, twice per week. Priced at $650, this comprehensive course will cover a range of baking techniques, including yeasted products, quick breads, pastry, cake making, and more.
On July 11th and 12th, ABHTI will offer a two-day workshop titled “Procure-to-pay ‘Spend Smart.’” This intensive programme, priced at $300, will provide valuable insights into effective procurement strategies, essential for businesses in the hospitality sector.
In a first for the institute, ABHTI presents “Table Top Excellence – Becoming a Certified Server,” a three-week course beginning September 23. Held twice per week for $450, this course will equip participants with exceptional table service skills, preparing them to excel in the front-of-house environment.
“We are happy to offer these exciting short courses, designed to meet the evolving needs of the hospitality and tourism sector,” said Executive Director, Raynel Carroll. “Participants will have the opportunity to learn from industry professionals and gain valuable certifications in their chosen areas.”
ABHTI encourages individuals to seize this opportunity to upskill themselves and become certified in high-demand areas of the industry. Successful applicants will receive certifications upon completion of each course.
