Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has disclosed that the police are making headway in investigating the fatal shooting of five people in the capital, Kingstown, last week.
“The police have picked up some persons and I believe that they will probably be widening the net from my conversation with the Commissioner,” Gonsalves said on state-owned NBC.
Gonsalves, also responsible for National Security, disclosed that his country was seeking technical assistance from the Regional Security System (RSS) and the Canadian authorities.
He assured that he and the government were resolute in fighting crime and criminals.
“We are not going to allow a handful of people to generate or engender fear,” the Vincentian Prime Minister declared.
He said that was the reason he was happy to see people going about their business.
And Gonsalves urged the cooperation of citizens in fighting back against criminals.
