The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) has reported a significant rise in student performance for the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) and the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) exams.
Across various subjects, there was an uptick in acceptable grades (Grade One, Two, or Three) compared to the previous year.
Dr. Nicole Manning, CXC’s Director of Operations and Examinations, highlighted an increase in candidate and subject entries for both exams, indicating progress beyond pandemic challenges.
Notable performance was noted in core subjects like Communication Studies and Caribbean Studies.
However, concerns were raised about absenteeism and incomplete School-Based Assessments, prompting collaboration among stakeholders.(Observer)
