Work On Track For Opening Of UWI Fourth Landed Campus

Education Minister Michael Browne has said that the necessary works to get the Fourth Lanaded Campus ready for opening in September are on track.

The Minister was at the time updating the cabinet on the progress of the works being undertaken to get the Campus ready.

Meanwhile a gift of US$5 million dollars has been donated by a wealthy contributor, in support of the UWI Five Islands Campus.

Antigua and Barbuda is positioning itself to carve out special niches that would make the Campus here a very attractive place for studying certain subjects.

In due course, the Mount St. John Medical Center is seeking to make itself an accredited teaching hospital, satisfying all the UWI requirements.

The ICT work to make the Fourth Campus connected to the existing three campuses, is near completion.   

Antigua has announced the 4th Campus of University of West Indies (UWI) will be officially opened in September 2019. The campus physically located in the community known as “Five Islands”, this newest campus of The UWI will be officially known as the “Five Islands Campus”.

The campus is expected to provide significant education benefits to locals putting Antigua squarely on the map by bringing much needed skills, talent and intellectual knowledge to the country .

The campus will  additionally benefit The OECS region which constitutes a significant part of the CARICOM family with a population of approximately 600,000 citizens, of which 102,000 reside in Antigua and Barbuda.
