US$130m over 30 years

INVESTORS FROM AROUND the world are lining up to secure the concession to operate Grantley Adams International Airport.

However, added Minister of Tourism and International Transport Kerrie Symmonds, the successful one will have to invest between US$130 and US$140 million over the 30-year period of the concession for expansion and development of Barbados’ main gateway.

He said that, of this sum, US$54 million would have to be committed within the first four years of the life of the investment,  describing it as “a mandatory expenditure which cannot be compromised” and which has been costed “to do a number of fundamentals”.
