Director of Education Clare Browne has been commenting on the recently released Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC ) results.
“There is no place in the education system for complacency. We are suppose, to be forever on the vanguard striving for excellence and so until we are at a hundred percent passes in everything and even when you get to one hundred percent, then you will think about improving the grades,’’ Mr Browne said.
The Education official said that this year’s pass rate is seventy-four percent when compared to seventy percent recorded for 2018.
Mr Browne attributed the improvement this year, to the hardwork being put in by teachers.
He also pointed out that the Ministry of Education has been focused on raising the competence of teachers through continuous professional development.
