SITUATION REPORT No. 1 AS OF 8:00AM ON AUGUST 27, 2019

 The Tropical Storm Warning for Barbados was discontinued as at 2:00 AM August 27, 2019.  The small craft warning was discontinued at 6:00AM August 27, 2019  Preliminary reports from the Department of Emergency Management (DEM) indicate the following: o During the passage of the storm, thirty eight (38) shelters were opened; seventeen (17) shelters were utilised, sheltering one hundred and two (102) persons of which thirty-three (33) were female o Downed power lines in some communities o Fallen trees causing road-blocks in some areas o Minor roof damage to a building in one community  Assessments are still ongoing  The Prime Minister has informed that normal operations will resume at 10:00 AM

SUMMARY OF UPDATES
Preliminary reports from the National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) indicate the following  The National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) was partially activated.  The Satellite EOC in Carriacou was activated.  No damage has been reported  Three (3) emergency shelters were opened: o One (1) in Petite Martinique – no occupants o Two (2) Carriacou – total of 26 occupants

SAINT LUCIA: NATIONAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION (NEMOTwo (2) emergency shelters opened in Anse Le Raye with 25 occupants  The threat of Dorian is still active  NEMO will continue to monitor the passage of Dorian and provide updates where necessary

ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES: NATIONAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION

No damage has been reported at this time.  A total of 124 persons are in emergency shelters  NEMO will continue to monitor the passage of Dorian and provide updates where necessary.

SUMMARY OF UPDATES
• The Regional Coordination Plan (RCP) remains activated (as at August 24, 2019)

• The Regional Response Teams remain on ALERT pending the ALL CLEAR from Dorian from the threatened CDEMA Participating States.

• CDEMA and the UN Resident Coordinator will Co-Chair the third meeting of the Regional Response Mechanism Partners – Caribbean Development Partners Group – Disaster Management (CDPG DM), at 1:00 PM today, August 27, 2019 at the UN House in Balmoral Gap, Bridgetown Barbados. The Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH) will provide a brief to this meeting.

• CDEMA CU urges all Participating States and members of the Regional Response Mechanism (RRM) to continue to monitor the progress of this system as it tracks towards CDEMA Participating States in the northwestern region.

• The CDEMA CU will continue to monitor the track of Tropical Storm Dorian and provide updates as necessary. For more information please visit www.cdema.org
