The Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston Browne has joined in expressing sadness over the death of a four-year-old girl earlier today.
Writing on his official Facebook page, Browne indicated that young Ajay Johnson climbed into her father’s bus and was able to get it to move forward.
The bus was parked in front of the home in Grays Farm.
“The little girl became frightened by the movement and jumped from the vehicle,” the prime minister said.
The reports indicate that the bus rolled over the little girl as it moved forward, and rolled over her once more as it rolled back. Young Ajay was crushed by the weight of the bus and killed.
Browne said “the sympathies of the Government of Antigua and Barbuda are extended to the entire family and community over this tragic loss.”
