Sundays Are Not to be Treated Like a Holiday With regards to Workers Pay

The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has took a decision to clarify the holiday law, pertaining to double pay for work on holidays, by making it clear that Sundays are NOT treated like a holiday.

According to the recent cabinet notes, the Cabinet agreed that at the next session of Parliament, the amendment to the law will take place in order to avoid any ambiguity. Therefore, those who work on a Sunday will not be able to confuse Sundays with holidays. There are 14 bank holidays in any one calendar year, not 52 + 14. Sundays are NOT holidays for the purpose of determining pay.
