The Rotary Club of Antigua (RCA) has further cemented its commitment to support youth and literacy development in Antigua and Barbuda.
The philanthropic organization recently made a contribution of $4,045.97 towards cash prizes in the 2021 Wadadli Pen Prize Competition.
This is the first time that the Rotary Club of Antigua has supported the initiative and RCA’s President Kevin Silston, explained that this is in keeping with the Club’s mantra.
“Rotary usually supports the spelling bee (and reading) competition and this year in particular because of the COVID related challenges, we were unable to do that. More broadly, this year, our theme has been opening opportunities by supporting youth development and healthy lifestyle choices. Therefore, with the Wadadli Pen Prize Competition, we are able to provide some support and it also allows us to execute our mandate, while at the same time supporting a worthy cause.”
The Club also sponsored the certificates for the 10 finalists in the competition.
The announcement of winners was made on May 30th 2021, via a virtual ceremony, which was attended by sponsors and participants.
