The Rotary Club of Antigua Sundown (RACS) together with the Swiss Embassy (in the Dominican Republic) has donated 4 recliners, 3 portable fetal dopplers and 1 patient monitor to the Maternity Department at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC). The donation is valued at over $35-thousand XCD.
“In our mission to advance precision health, there is no better place to start than at the beginning,” said Diana Browne, RCAS President. “One of Rotary’s areas of focus is Maternal & Child Health—We’re happy to have committed partners like the Swiss Embassy who’ve been ready and willing to work with us on projects such as this, where we can impact the lives of many mothers and their babies. So many families will benefit from this gift, and that’s what it has always been about for our Club.”
“We are so fortunate to have the Rotary Club of Antigua Sundown and their partners the Swiss Embassy as long-standing champions of our hospital,” said Raymond Mansoor MD, SLBMC Chair of Obstetrics & Gynecology. “Their hard work is invaluable to advancing our shared missions to improve human health. In these deeply challenging times, Rotary’s support provides welcome hope for many families. We are immensely grateful.”
The Rotary Club of Antigua Sundowns’ prior gifts to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre have included other generous investments for the maternity department, and the ophthalmology clinic.
