Poor planning!

Some of the major stakeholders in the poultry industry are condemning the business model of some fast food restaurants, which they blame for the chicken shortages those businesses are experiencing.

Following statements by management at KFC and Chicken Barn indicating they were experiencing difficulty sourcing fresh meat from their suppliers on Sunday, Chicken Barn was forced to close three of its six branches yesterday.

This development generated into a debate on Voice Of Barbados’ Down To Brass Tacks call-in programme, and chief executive officer of the Barbados Agricultural Society, James Paul, lambasted the business approaches of the restaurants.

Paul said some fast food outlets were not maintaining good business practices and the challenges they were facing were a result of poor planning.
