PM Browne Joins Regional Colleagues at Funeral Service for Sir K. Dwight Venner

Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne joined dignitaries from across the region yesterday, in Castries, St. Lucia for the Official Funeral Service of The Honourable Sir K. Dwight Venner, former Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB).
The country’s leader who is the Chairman of the ECCB Monetary Council, will join his colleague Heads, Board of Directors and Executive Committee members of the ECCB along with family and friends at the service which will commence at 2:00 pm at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in the capital Castries.
Sir Dwight Venner passed away on Thursday, December 22 in St. Lucia.
Upon hearing of his passing, Prime Minister Browne stated that as the Governor of the ECCB, Sir Dwight demonstrated that a region with few resources could enhance its prospects in a new international economic order through the development and implantation of sound regulatory fiscal policies.  The region, he says, has lost an illustrious son.
Financial Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Corporate Governance and the country’s representative on the Monetary Council of the ECCB, Mr. Whitfield Harris is also in St. Lucia for the Official Funeral Service.
