Over 1000 Hotel Workers Back On The Job

The opening of the borders is necessary in order to get the economy growing again, and to generate employment, the Chairman explained.

More than 1,100 hotel workers have returned to their jobs since July 1, 2020, and more than 8,000 passengers have arrived Antigua since then.

It is anticipated that the numbers will continue to grow and that more job opportunities will be generated in the months ahead as the winter tourism season dawns.

The Cabinet repeated that the 25-person threshold is derived from science, intended to enable successful contact tracing; a number larger than 25 makes the tracing and tracking exceedingly difficult, if not impossible.

The wearing of masks contributes significantly to the protection of others and the mask-wearer, and is compelled by law.
