National Secondary Student’s Council contests CXC’s decision to host July exams

The National Secondary Students’ Council (NSSC) is appealing to the Government of Jamaica to push for the postponement of the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) examinations until a viable and safe alternative is identified.

In a press release Tuesday afternoon, the council expressed concerns about the recent announcement made by the CXC last Friday, May 8 which stated that the Caribbean Secondary Examination Certificate (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) will be held in July of this year.

The council said it is aware of the urgency and importance of hosting the examinations but did not believe it was the safest decision.
