More Whistleblowers coming forward

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley yesterday dismissed the “strange statement” coming from Oropouche East MP Dr Roodal Moonilal that whistleblowers can be induced by money to give evidence against persons.

Speaking during debate on the Whistleblower Bill in Parliament, the prime minister said Moonilal’s claim was a “poor defence for today’s headline” (which the prime minister appeared to anticipate would feature the detention of Moonilal’s colleagues, former attorney general Anand Ramlogan and Senator Gerald Ramdeen).

“What is this fear? And what is this thing about trying to personalise legislation?” the prime minister asked, adding there was no such thing as “PNM law or UNC law”.
