Look out for some businesses to be added to the list of essential services.
According to a Government source, several businesses applied for exemptions from the shutdown as Barbados goes deeper into the two-week restricted movement of people to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19).
However, the majority of those applications had been rejected, as public debate rages on about which others should be considered essential, including hardware stores for plumbing or electrical home emergencies.
However, Attorney General Dale Marshall has said that would only occur if the stores were asked to supply material to complete the quarantine facility at Harrison Point, St Lucy.
Last week, a public health emergency was declared and the island went into a partial shutdown of businesses and an 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew from Saturday.
