Ministry of Health, Wellness and The Environment Advises of the Administration of Second Doses of the Pfizer Vaccines

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment wishes to advise the public that effective Tuesday 12 October 2021, only second doses of the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccines will be administered to adults and children. This pause in administering first doses of the Pfizer vaccine is to ensure that persons who have already received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine get their second dose. This decision has been taken as the government of Antigua and Barbuda anticipates the arrival of the second batch of Pfizer vaccines from the United States of America. The administration of the first dose of Pfizer vaccines will resume once more doses arrive on the island. The second dose of the Pfizer vaccine will be administered at the Multipurpose Cultural and Exhibition Center from 9:00am to 4:00pm, Mondays through Fridays.
Adults who are yet to be vaccinated may wish to utilize any of the other three COVID-19 vaccines currently available. These are the two dose Sinopharm and AstraZeneca vaccines and the single dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine. First doses of these vaccines are available at the following centers from 9:00am to 4:00pm, Mondays through Fridays.
Multipurpose and Cultural Center AstraZeneca, SinopharmVilla Polyclinic AstraZeneca, Johnson and Johnson
The AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines are also administered at the All Saints, Browne’s Avenue and Clarehall Health Centers. Persons are encouraged to call these health centers to schedule an appointment to receive the vaccine.
COVID-19 vaccines will be also distributed this weekend, on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th October 2021 at the American University on Antigua from 9am to 3:00pm.
