Public Service Vehicle (PSV) operators are predicting “mayhem” trying to get children to adhere to COVID-19 protocols when they return to school from September 21.
However, head of the COVID-19 Monitoring Unit, Ronald Chapman, while acknowledging the approaching problem, said they would be out educating the public.
Communications and marketing officer of the Alliance Owners of Public Transport (AOPT), Mark A. Haynes, said it would be a huge challenge getting the children to adhere to the protocols.
“We have a national problem and when school begins, all mayhem will break loose. Unless we realise our society is bad behaved, we will continue to stick our heads in the sand,” he said during a joint media briefing yesterday between the alliance and the unit at the Constitution River Terminal in Bridgetown.
