Union leaders have hit out at the Hotel and Tourism Association over the tough stance regarding unvaccinated hospitality workers. The association advises members, who includes some of the country’s largest resorts not to allow staff who have not been jabbed against Covid to enter their premises. David Messiah, general secretary of the workers union, who is fighting in the employee’s corner has reported that the decision is somewhat an assassination
Messiah says the union, will make its position clear at a national consultation taking place via zoom between leaders of the private sector, unions and political parties this afternoon.
“We are prepared to challenge any illegal or discriminatory attempt against the unvaccinated people that is unwarranted, and I see that as an unwarranted approach. It is the very people that has carried this industry for so long, it is the very people that you are depending to carry it forward”
Messiah claims hoteliers have failed to explain the grounds for their tough stance.
