With a female worker suspected to have committed suicide on one of the luxury liners anchored off Barbados due to the COVID-19 lockdown on cruise ships, Minister of Health Jeffrey Bostic says Government is willing to extend its psychological services to remaining crew members awaiting repatriation.
He said that in the past Barbados had rendered medical aid to cruise ships upon request and Government was willing to do so on this on this occasion, once asked.
“From time to time cruise ships have made request of Barbados for medical assistance and humanitarian assistance as well and we have been able to facilitate those requests. So, if there was a request for that psychological support, I am sure that we would be able to facilitate that request. So far, we have not had any such request,” said Bostic.
