Fears shooting won’t be the last

Some residents in Redman’s Village are in fear that last night’s shooting of Kurt Goddard will not be the last such incident.

That’s why they are supporting the call for a police outpost to be erected in the St Thomas community so as to nip in the bud what they say is a growing problem.

Around 7:30 p.m., the quiet of the village was disrupted by a volley of gunshots that resulted in Goddard, also known as “Patch”, being shot in the head.

“He troubles nobody. He is a sweet boy . . . . All ah we grow up together and that boy is the best of he mother children,” a distraught resident, who asked not to be named, said of the victim.
