– CIBC FirstCaribbean in Antigua was a sea of yellow last Thursday as they joined branches across the region in celebrating its Employee Appreciation Day on Thursday 10th September.
Country Manager Ladesa James-Williams noted that the annual Employee Appreciation Day is our way of letting our teams know that we value their contribution, effort and support.
“This year was extra special noting the personal sacrifices our people have made as frontline employees. Their commitment, drive and determination to serve our clients during these Covid Times has been exceptional. I am blessed to have Team Antigua by my side in our continued efforts to be the leader in client relationships.”
Manager of the bank’s two branches, Mrs. Dawn Soleyn, added that it was very important to always say thanks and show appreciation as without a staff dedicated to excellence of service, the business would not survive.
During the course of the day, members of staff wore yellow signifying hope in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. Staff received prizes for best yellow dress-up and mask-up. There was the first ever Employees Appreciation Day Virtual Party with musical entertainment provided by a staff member MC Yohance and a slide presentation featuring past appreciation day events. All members of staff received a Goodie Bag.
CIBC has been established in the Caribbean since 1920. FirstCaribbean Internatinal Bank was formed in 2002 with the merger of CIBC West Indies Holdings and Barclays Bank PLC Caribbean operations. In December 2006, CIBC acquired the Barclays share and became the majority shareholder in FirstCaribbean.
On June 20, 2011 the bank became co-branded under the CIBC banner, adopting the branding CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank.
