The Cabinet took note of the many fires that have left families homeless and hillsides scarred by uncontrollable blazes. The Cabinet was reminded that the long drought has sucked-up a lot of moisture from the wood of which many dwellings are constructed, and the vegetation that is becoming very dry in this rain-starved season, can make for easy combustion. Caution and care are to be exercised by homeowners, farmers and others who till the soil. The risk of fire has increased as rainfall decreased. Cabinet reiterated the prohibition in law that prevents lit cigarettes and cell-phone use to take place at gas stations. Given the frequency of fires, Cabinet reiterated the prohibition disallowing these items to be used at the pump.
