California man is first murder victim

Re­nal­do Chi­napoo be­came the first mur­der vic­tim of 2020 when he was gunned down in Cal­i­for­nia on New Year’s Day.

Ac­cord­ing to a re­port, Chi­napoo was stand­ing on Ba­hadur Street in Cal­i­for­nia at around 6.20 pm, a gun­man walked up and shot him twice in his head. The gun­man ran off, leav­ing Chi­napoo bleed­ing on the road­side.

Cou­va po­lice, and Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force of­fi­cers re­spond­ed. Chi­napoo was tak­en to the Cou­va Dis­trict Health Fa­cil­i­ty where he was pro­nounced dead. Of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions, Re­gion Three are in­ves­ti­gat­ing. Po­lice are yet to de­ter­mine a mo­tive.
